BEC-Baltimore Seminar at Intertek-ATI: October 14, 2016

BEC-Baltimore is excited to invite all building industry professionals to this special event at Intertek–ATI in York, Pennsylvania. Intertek–ATI is an industry leading provider of building enclosure commissioning, consulting, inspection, testing, and design services for the construction industry.  They have developed a number of specifications, test methods, and certification programs that have been adopted for use.

Intertek-ATI visit

We will be visiting Intertek–ATI for a half-day program which includes two presentations, lunch and a tour of the facility which is sure to fascinate anyone involved in the design or construction of buildings. This will be a highly informative event and we hope to see you there. Transportation will not be provided, but ride sharing is encouraged. Further details will be provided to attendees. All are welcome to attend.

Speaker Bios:

John Runkle, PE

Mr. Runkle is Vice President of Building Sciences at Intertek–ATI. He has 16+ years of experience as a consulting/commissioning engineer specializing in field air, water, thermal, and structural testing, investigative services and condition surveys, and design peer reviews and shop drawing reviews of residential, commercial, and industrial facade assemblies in over 35 states, including roofing, claddings, fenestrations, and below grade waterproofing. He has developed the practice area of building enclosure commissioning and has provided expert witness services on various projects.

Jillian Burgess, RA

Ms. Burgess is a Building Enclosure Consultant with The Facade Group. She has a strong technical background and 15+ years of experience. She is a skilled project manager—assisting architects, contractors, developers and other building professionals in all phases of the design process. Ms. Burgess specializes in Building Performance Modeling. She has extensive experience with schematic massing analysis, detailed facade investigation, solar insolation studies, daylight/glare optimization and CFD modeling. Most of her research focuses on balancing daylight and heat gain for glass facades. Ms. Burgess’s work spans the globe, having studied shading strategies in multiple building climates. She believes strongly in the impact energy analysis can have in improving building performance.
