Towson University Re-Skin: September 19, 2018

BEC-Baltimore presents: Towson University Re-Skin

In 2014, Towson University embarked on a full building renovation of their 15-story Residence Tower residence hall built in 1972. The project had 3 goals: solve air and water infiltration issues, improve energy efficiency, bring the building up to modern residence hall standards.

The university was interested in changing the whole look of the building so re-skinning was studied. This presentation will focus on the decisions behind re-skinning the building, the detailing of a new rain screen envelope system and the lessons learned across construction.
