BEC-Baltimore: Air Barrier & Flashings Symposium

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM

BEC-Baltimore, in conjunction with BEC-DC, is hosting a symposium with in depth discussion and demonstration of air barrier and flashing integration for high-performing building enclosures. The event is jointly hosted by the International Masonry Institute (IMI) and the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) and will be located at IMI in Bowie, MD. During the workshop, instructors will review four mock ups in conjuction with classroom presentations. Discussion will also focus on the installation of air and vapor barriers, flashings at openings and roofs, as well as critical tie-in details and transitions between each of the systems.

Please note that this is a warehouse/workshop facility, so appropriate dress is recommended. While hard hats are not required, PPE (i.e. gloves and safety glasses) will be provided by IMI. No scaffolding will be required for interaction with mock ups.

Free parking and lunch provided.

AIA HSW learning units will be provided (at total of 4.5 LUs).
